THE SELF FAMILY COAT OF ARMS
HISTORY
In 1982, the Self Family Newsletter needed a cover for their first issue of the Newsletter. Based upon vague descriptions, and trim based upon the Chester District (S.C.) Genealogical Society cover page, Dan McCarthy "created" this "for a cover use" Coat-of-Arms. How close to the real thing this cover arms is, is pure speculation. The Coat-of-Arms, currently in use, without permission we might add, and copyrighted, and presently owned by Dan-D Development, a design firm, has over the last 16 years became accepted as The Coat-of-Arms for the Self family in America.
