Since its inception in 1982 the Self Family Newsletter has been dedicated to Self, Selph, Selfe family research. Our objective is to gather, analyze and SHARE Self family genealogy. We believe in responsible genealogical research. Anyone can believe that their ancestor is descended from the Robert Self in Westmoreland County Virginia. The fact of the matter is that until there is proof all information is hypothetical. One of our favorite mottoes is "Genealogy without proof is Mythology!" Recently we have received several letters from confused researchers regarding another on-line group of Self family researchers. It appears that this confusion is being propagated by the fact that the other group is soliciting money for membership to their on-line netletter. We are in no way affiliated to any other Self family research group. Self Family Newsletter is the original publication to Self family genealogy. Our newsletter is sent via regular U.S. mail. Our on-line forum is free to all and will continue to be so forever. Our dedication is to our group of researchers who wish to be a part of responsible genealogical values who's standards are of the highest value.
